On July 6th, the Belarusian State Academic Music Theatre will host the premiere of the restored ballet 'The Cherry Orchard' directed by Sergey Mikel. The event is dedicated to the 165th anniversary of Anton Chekhov's birth. The ballet, which was recognized as the best ballet performance at the V Republican Competition 'National Theatre Award' in 2018, includes music by Georgy Sviridov, Oleg Khodosh, and Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The libretto, based on Chekhov's play of the same name, tells the story of the Ranevskaya family returning to their ancestral estate and facing the need to sell their cherry orchard, symbolizing their past and lost dreams.
