Astronomical Full Moon Event in May
May will see the second full moon, known as the 'blue moon'. This coincides with a microlunar event, when the Moon is far from the Earth. The peak of the lunar cycle will be on May 31st at 11:45 local time. If the weather is good, the full moon will be visible in the pre-dawn hours. The 'blue moon' is a rare event when there are two full moons in one month, and according to NASA, it can be observed only once every two and a half years.
